This is a classic pairing of fibers! The silk and Bluefaced Leicester work well together due to the natural shine and long staple length of the BFL. This yarn sucks up the dye and speckles very well. The yarn has a round and firm 4ply twist making it perfect for showing off cabled and detailed knitting stitches. The colors appear intense and bright. The knitted fabric has a soft shine and gentle halo and has a marvelous drape. This is lovely for shawls, accessories and garments. We would not recommend using this base to make socks.
