Sheila's Sparkle - CONES

Please be aware that at our end of the market, cones are not weighed with the precision of skein presentation. There will very probably be some variation from exact 2.2lb (1kg) weight of coned yarns. Cones are priced to take this into account.

This is a high-twist yarn with a subtle, silver sparkle running through it. The twist makes it a perfect sock yarn, giving the yarn robustness and spring. It sucks up the dye, and speckles really well. It also works nicely for glazing techniques. Colors appear bright and clear. The knitted fabric is bouncy and soft, amazing for socks and whatever you fancy!

Stellina can sometimes be damaged or dulled at high acidity. We have found that using less acid and a longer fixing time helps. Vinegar tends to cause less damage as it’s a weaker acid.

Please note the reason this yarn is not OEKO-TEX® certified is because of the stellina content.

This is the same yarn which is presented on skeins as Sheila's Sparkle.  Because of the winding process, the air is squeezed out of the yarn, but it rebounds to its original springy self after being dyed and dried.
