This thick, roving-style yarn, in contrast to our other single chunkys, is non-superwash with a slightly shorter yardage. Our standard skeins for this yarn are 115g which gives enough for a small project like a hat. This yarn compacts a little when dyed, which adds robustness. Care should be taken to minimize water movement as it would felt quite easily. It takes the dye well, and speckles spread on the large surface area. This is fabulous for making chunky hats and cowls which are quick to knit.
Please be aware that at our end of the market, cones are not weighed with the precision of skein presentation. There will very probably be some variation from the exact weight of coned yarns.
