Cashmere and Mohair

Cashmere is one of the world's most expensive fibers. In the past few years, cashmere and silk have become numbered among this elite price range that shouts 'luxury!' We strive to include the amount of cashmere in our blends to impart luxury at an affordable level.

Mohair, like cashmere, is sourced from goats. We use a softer mohair than is normal used in yarns, called Kid Mohair, or the mohair from young animals.

All luxury fibers should be washed by hand and laid flat to dry. Part of the aspect of luxury is delicacy. We do not recommend tossing socks with cashmere in the blend into the machine.

A super fun yarn that sucks up the dye really well. It has a soft texture and a pretty sheen to it.

Brilliant for cuffs, edgings, and Cowls.

I knitted the swatch on a 7mm, which is slightly larger than a 10.5. Washed and blocked guage came out at 12sts and 18 rows per 4"

This is a delicate fingering weight yarn that takes dye like a dream and has a glorious shine and a soft halo once knitted. This softly spun single knits up to be a strong yet soft fabric. I used US2 needles for this swatch and got a gauge of 30sts and 48 rows, I think this could also be knit on a tighter gauge for socks, probably on a US1.

This would work as a weft. WPI 27/28
